BHOPAL: After Amma canteen in Tamil Nadu named after Chief Minister Jayalalithaa aimed to provide subsidised food to poor, MP will have its own Shiv Neer (RO water) to quench parched throats. Taking a cue from the success of “NaMo tea stalls” that helped promote brand Modi, state BJP unit is hoping to promote and strengthen brand Shivraj Singh Chouhan through Shiv Neer.
MP unit of BJP along with Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) has opened city’s own chain of RO water plant named after the chief minister.
It is a unit of community RO water plant and we intend to replace each of our existing “piyau” (traditional water kiosks) across the city with modern and smart Shiv-Neer unit, said commissioner BMC Tejasvi S Naik.
“MP is developing fast under leadership of chief minister so rather than giving it a secular or communal image, we named it Shiv Neer,” justified Naik.
State’s first RO water plant was opened in Anuppur district in 2013 and was named “water point”. This time party aptly renamed it “Shiv Neer” in view of ensuing world Hindi conference, where a large number of participants and dignitaries from across the globe will assemble in the state capital.
